How would you rate your negotiation skills?
Contrary to popular belief, to be a successful negotiator does not require one to be aggressive, dominant or coercing. Rather it demands a key set of skills and a formulated approach.
The ability to negotiate well is a pre-requisite to succeeding as a business owner or leader, and no matter your experience level there are always areas to improve. Join PJ Timmins, Managing Director of The Alternative Board Ireland, as he walks us through the skills required to become a smarter negotiator, and provides clear steps to preparing and executing a successful negotiation that benefits both parties.

We asked Ron Chauvel, Partner at Chauvel & Glatt to share with us his life story including people and experiences that have influenced his personal and business philosophies. We also asked him to answer some fun questions. Following are excerpts from that interview.
What are some significant experiences in your life, and explain what effects they have had on you?
My childhood was pretty good. Grew up in Palo Alto. Good neighborhood. Great parents and sister. My parents both worked. My mother is a musician and still teaches at Stanford. My Dad worked for Kraft Foods his whole life as a personnel manager in their SF office. Many good class mates all the way through High School.
